At Grieving Together Maine, therapy is grounded in the belief that healing is possible. The treatment model is collaborative, strengths-based, and evidence-informed. This means the treatment you receive is drawn from approaches backed by research, adapted to your unique goals, and delivered with compassion and respect.

We will work together to understand the challenges you are facing, clarify the direction you want to go, and build the skills needed to create meaningful and sustainable change. Therapy is not something done to you—it is something we build together.

You are the expert on your own life. We take time to understand your story, your values, and what success looks like for you. Your goals guide the therapy process, and we regularly check in to ensure your needs are being met.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — identifying unhelpful patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and building healthier alternatives

Trauma-Informed Therapy & Seeking Safety — addressing the effects of trauma and substance use while promoting safety, stability, and emotional regulation

Motivational Interviewing (MI) — strengthening motivation and confidence for change without pressure or judgment

Mindfulness-Based Practices — increasing awareness, emotional balance, and stress reduction

Seeking Safety is a highly effective, evidence-based therapy designed for individuals dealing with trauma, substance use, or both. It focuses on building safety in the present rather than requiring clients to revisit traumatic memories. This makes it especially supportive for individuals who want to strengthen coping skills while navigating distress, triggers, or patterns that feel overwhelming. Through supportive discussion and skill-building exercises, you will learn tools you can use immediately in real-life situations, both inside and outside of therapy. I offer Seeking Safety in individual sessions or group format.
